The Covert Human Intelligence Source Code of Practice has been updated to reflect the new Criminal Conduct Authorisations rules. (This used to be referred to as CHIS participation).
The draft Code of Practice will be opened for consultation and then go to both Houses of Parliament for consultation. Once this process has been completed then the new Code of Practice for CHIS will be introduced by way of a statutory instrument. Until that happens IPCO are advising organisations to follow the draft Code of Practice until the new one is formally introduced in early 2022.
