Introduction To Our Bitesized Disclosure Training
Too many criminal trials are being lost, not on the evidence but due to disclosure.
Disclosure under the Criminal Procedures & Investigations Act (CPIA) is a complex subject with many facets that apply to investigations. However, not all investigators need to understand ALL of the legislation or all of the practices.
There are a variety of areas that apply from and a number of questions that investigators need to understand, such as:
- What constitutes an investigation?
- When does an investigation start?
- What are disclosure schedules and how much detail should be included on a disclosure schedule?
- What is sensitive material?
- How do I decide if something is relevant to an investigation and what if I am unsure?
- Can we protect sensitive material and if so how?
- What is a Public Interest Immunity (PII) hearing and how does it work?
We offer a variety of disclosure courses which can equip investigators and supervisors with the knowledge and skills to perform their roles as Disclosure Officers or supervisors of such staff.
We are now pleased to offer Bitesized Disclosure courses to examine focussed and specific areas to assist staff that only need to know about a specific part of the disclosure regime.
