Decision Making Training

Face-To-Face or Live Virtual Training

Introduction To Our Decision Making Training

Everyone makes decisions every day, often without fully considering the consequences. However, some situations, especially in the workplace, require careful deliberation as they can lead to serious outcomes or repercussions if mishandled.
We understand this reality because we’ve been in those high-pressure scenarios, making pivotal decisions in both public and private sectors. Our experience spans crucial business decisions and extends to literal ‘life or death’ situations. Our trainers have firsthand experience as senior investigators, firearms commanders, kidnap negotiators, and undercover operatives. We know what true pressure feels like, and we’re here to help you navigate your critical decisions with confidence.

About This Training

We offer several different decision-making courses to help you make the best decisions that you can and what’s more we don’t offer courses which use ‘pie in the sky’ gimmicks.
All of our courses are grounded in reality and designed to reflect your situation, whilst using our valuable experience to allow you to make decisions when under pressure.
Core Skills for Decision Making Training
This course is designed for anyone who wants to make quality decisions. The training looks at the factors that can influence how you make decisions, a framework for making decisions, considering your options and how to make the ‘right’ decision. There are also exercises in decision making so you can practice these newly learnt skills in a safe environment.
Defensible Decision Making Training
This course and it is aimed at anyone that may be required to defend their decision-making process later, particularly in a court, tribunal or public inquiry.

The course examines how pressure and other factors can affect your decision-making ability, how to use a decision-making model such as the National Decision Model (NDM), how to record your decisions to ensure that they are able to offer you a defensible position later, if they are examined in a forensic way.

If your role requires you to keep a policy book or decision log we can show you the most effective way to record your decisions in these documents.

The training includes a variety of exercises that will reflect the work that you undertake to allow you to practice and reflect on how you should make decisions when back in the workplace.

Decision Making in Businesses
The training is designed for supervisors, managers, executives or those people that run their own companies to look at the decisions they make in the workplace and how to make better business decisions. The course examines what causes you to make poor decisions and how to make better decisions, after considering your options and how to use a framework to assist you.

The course looks at the pressures faced in the workplace and how to counter these to ensure decisions are as objective as possible. The training focusses on how the decisions that you make can affect your business and how to ensure these decisions have a positive commercial outcome.

There are a number of practical exercises as well as an ‘open forum’ where you can discuss the decisions that you need to make, and receive feedback from the trainer and your peers.
