Introduction To Our RIPA (& RIPSA) Awareness Training
Our RIPA Awareness training is aimed at those people, that need to have a general awareness of the various activities under the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act (or the Scottish equivalent, RIPSA), whether from the public sector or a private sector organisation seeking to be RIPA compliant.
For example:

When should an authorisation be sought for the use of a CCTV system?

When does online research become directed surveillance?

When does a person need to be classed as a Covert Human Intelligence Source (CHIS)?

When does surveillance become intrusive surveillance and how can this be avoided?
All of these questions and many more will be answered through this training.
About This Course
We can tailor our training to offer you a course that is either ½ day or one-day in duration dependant upon your needs and will reflect the work that you and your organisation undertake.
The aim of this training is to enable delegates to appreciate surveillance and/or CHIS activity in line with current legislation and policy and is delivered by subject matter experts that have all worked operationally with RIPA.
This course is for anyone who is required to have an understanding of the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act 2000, including, Directed Surveillance and/or Covert Human Intelligence Sources (CHIS), such as investigators, CCTV staff, etc. We can also include communications data if needed. Each of our RIPA courses can be tailored to your specific requirements.
