RIPA (& RIPSA) Senior Responsible Officer (SRO) Training
Face-To-Face or Live Virtual Training
Introduction To Our RIPA (& RIPSA) Senior Responsible Officer (SRO) Training
Every organisation that has the powers under RIPA (or RIPSA) and the Investigatory Powers Act (IPA) MUST have a Senior Responsible Officer (SRO). This is not a figurehead role, they are personally responsible and accountable to IPCO for the use (or lack of use) made of the powers.
It is important that the SRO understands their role and how they need to perform this function within the organisation to minimise the risk of complaints and/or reputational damage and also to ensure that errors are managed and minimised going forwards.
About This Course
This half-day course is aimed at senior managers that have this responsibility in their organisation.
The aim of our training is to enable participants to appreciate their role and also the requirements of the legislation and to ensure they have the required policies, processes and structures.
The training looks at the responsibilities placed on the SRO, how they should discharge those duties and the expectations of the Investigatory Powers Commissioners Office (IPCO).
The training will reflect the specific activity that you need; from Communications Data, Directed Surveillance, Intrusive Surveillance, Property Interference, Covert Human Intelligence Sources (C.H.I.S.) – or a combination of these.
